So Shane and I really pounded the pavement, Starbucks in hand (well, mine only) this weekend looking in earnest at the apartments available. We don’t need to move out immediately but research is key. Over 2 days we looked at 5 places and revisited an old friend.
Due to popular demand, we now have a voting poll. Which would you chose if you were shopping? Interesting results so far.
Fun times! Overall, happy with what we saw. Nothing was perfect (which is normal) and we’re a bit reticent to spend a lot of money. Full list after the jump.

2 BR/2 BA duplex on Huron: $2,700 Pros: Lots of light, terraces, privacy in upstairs bedroom, on-site parking, mini-gym, decent price, w/d. Cons: Lack of dedicated office space, living room is a bit narrow, need to fit in microwave. |

3 BR/3 BA duplex on 235 North Henry: $3,450 Pros: Nice tree lined street, backyard space for dog, nice kitchen, 2 ovens (!!), plenty of room downstairs for dedicated office, space for treadmill or bike, lots of light, w/d. Cons: Walking into dining room is not ideal, lack of closet space, no parking, no gym, basement is a basement. Over $3k. |

Pros: Beautiful. Great landlord. Dedicated office. Cons: NO DOGS. Nuff said. |

Pros: Spacious, area to entertain, beautiful views, nice attention to details, area for office space, w/d and RENT TO OWN (eventually, maybe). Cons: Area for office space = no WIC, lack of closet space, no parking, no gym, rental/broker fee. Over $3k |

Pros: Beautiful views, light, high ceilings, dedicated roof top, lovely master bedroom, tons of closet space, w/d, nice details, great owners. Cons: Bit tight space wise with no area for a home office, over $3k. |
So…yeah. Liking what we see, the people we meet and THANK GOD Fate intervened with the 305 Lofts. Going to think about it more because we’re not sure if we have to make do with limited space given there appears to be an influx of new places soon. But we’re in a totes good place
